Prior to the founding of Grandlaw Partners, Mrs. Lawani spent several years as a courtroom practitioner in the Firm of Alex Agbaka & Co. She was a seasoned trial lawyer representing clients with diverse backgrounds in a series of cases ranging from misdemeanour charges of theft to advance fee fraud and homicide. Some of Mrs. Lawani's cases received nationwide media attention. She has an unwavering ability to resolve complex cases without muddling up the primary objective of the client. She demonstrated this in a number of election petition cases she prosecuted.
Mrs. Lawani is a graduate of Ambrose Alli University and a member of the Nigerian Bar Association. She is a founding Partner of the firm and a proud mother of two children.
She complements the firm's other areas of practice, distinguishing herself in particular in the area of debt recovery, mortgage and debenture negotiation and perfection. She has recently advised and resolved for a client a complex title issue across five jurisdictions. She presently has a record-high dispute resolution and debt recovery rate.
