Olaide Adedapo obtained a Law Degree from Obafemi Awolowo University. He had his pupillage at Kenna & Associates after he was called to the bar. He has since been in active legal practice, in the course of which he worked as a Senior Associate in the law firm of Edu, Edu and Co. (Solicitors).
Mr. Adedapo has supervised several contentious cross-boundary commercial litigations. He played a lead role in the team of lawyers that represented a multinational conglomerate in a Letters of Credit / Bill of Exchange suit of over $9,000,000.00, where he proposed and adopted the strategy that achieved a favourable judgment of about $4,500,000.00 without the hurdle of trial. He is also part of the team seeking recovery of over NGN 2,500,000,000.00 in proceeds of fraud by the erstwhile directors and contractor of a multinational company.
Having worked on several transactions with international flavour, Mr. Adedapo has specialist knowledge in credit finance and securitization as well as International Trade and Payment Systems. He has contributed to several published research works both in and outside Nigeria.
Mr. Adedapo has worked extensively on various corporate and commercial transactions, including advising and acting as superintending Solicitor in the convertible bond loan for several companies. He has been involved in loan portfolio advice, securities, and other financial transactions. His stint in Edu, Edu & Co. (Solicitors) also saw through the Trade Mark Protection of one of the biggest consumer products in the world; the negotiation and drawing up of agreement for crude oil-cocktail exchange, franchise, and scriptwriting agreements; and acting as Company Secretary to several companies on behalf of the firm.
As a Partner in Grandlaw Partners, Mr. Adedapo has developed model agreements for software development, maintenance, and licensing in Nigeria for leading software developers in the country. Having worked on several directed foreign investments and repatriations of capital, he has specialist knowledge in repatriation of capital. He is the Solicitor responsible for the legal aspects of the innovative money-lending software (revamping and maintenance) for a financial institution in Nigeria. His diligence and perseverance have recently carved a niche for Grandlaw Partners in Admiralty Law.
